We are currently looking to hire an Operations Manager reporting to the Regional Operations Manager. This position is responsible for the efficient operation of a high-volume dock within the Toronto terminal, with a strong emphasis on candidates who have previous dock leadership experience.
Responsibilities:
Leads and inspires the dock team to achieve operational goals and KPIs
Promotes and fosters a strong Employee Health and Safety culture
Ensures HUB sort operations operate on time maintaining network schedule
Processes all inbound freight handled by city P&D drivers in a timely basis
Maintains appropriate staffing/equipment levels that are aligned with volumes and budget
Ensures that the team reaches Weights and Inspection goals
Provides daily accurate reporting of KPIs and activities
Monitors and checks dock processes frequently to ensure quality and compliance
Delivers strong effective communication to all members of the team
Mentors, coaches and develops their team for success
Coordinates building and yard maintenance
Collaborates with other departments in the spirit of continuous improvement
Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of transportation and management experience; College or University Degree preferred
LTL/Cross dock experience preferred
Managing in a union environment an asset
Possesses strong Team building skills. Is present and engaged with all teams and shifts
Demonstrates the ability to adapt well to change
Excellent practical approach to problem solving
Customer service oriented
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Possesses exceptional personal integrity and strong values
